Sunol

Grass and light

Strking down a trail,
passing through the land
minds bent to not fail.
Noting works of God's hand.

Green grass noted for color,
and just how it grows alone,
Makes me want to run and holler,
and foget the uses of my phone.

And how hamocks were strung,
lunches cooked stomachs full,
running in the field I stepped in dung.
at least our smell wasn't dull.

Have you seen the night sky?
Peppered with stars glinting.
felt the throb of sunrise in your eye?
Looking away-the glare, squinting.

We covered it all, laid our tracks,
we call it out of place, worse weeds.
As it pushes narrowly through cracks,
we rush to work, forgetting our needs.

It's not all gone, Hope still lingers there.
Seen by those of us who trust,
natures blind might, and beauty fair.
Away I will go, I must...
