What's my duty on this Valentines day
no girlfriend to kiss my dark tears away.
Should I send a note to a girl I know,
a desperate attempt of my love to show.
But what girl, who, why?
would she know of these tears I cry,
when i think of so many of them,
sweet and pure, and without good men,
to chase after their hearts of sugar so sweet,
and of mind so quick and neat.
Oh but how many men of like mind as I,
flirt, joke, laugh and pretend to fly,
as we wonder "does she like me"
"is her smile one of delight to see,
or is she secretly laughing at this act of me"
It's not me I want to say,
but the act must continue today.
For she thinks I am this good fellow.
But if she only knew my heart has turned to jello.
...Ahh I am but a man all drive and hope
not much of a Romeo, mostly just a dope.
I try and try to act like I am,
a strong sturdy and stout man.
But all you women should know,
that a man is much more than what is down below;
although yes we are driven by such.
We desire you to smile, laugh, and be happy, much,
but we really can't say it aloud,
see, it is because we are too proud.
But if you can look into our eyes and see,
you will note, that we would be happy,
if you would come and stand by our side
and help us along on this ride.
For its ups and downs can take a toll,
on our hearts and into our soul.
I swear now before all you who read,
that I will pursue a woman as she does need.
And I will never fail, although when I fall,
The only God above is the one I will call,
He will be by my side,
as I will be by hers on this long ride
no girlfriend to kiss my dark tears away.
Should I send a note to a girl I know,
a desperate attempt of my love to show.
